Overview
A no-code website builder that lets churches launch and maintain their own customisable sites without engineering help. Built as a companion product to the SoapBox platform, it gives organisations with no technical staff a way to publish and update a real website themselves.
Objective
The goal was to remove the developer from the critical path. Churches needed to change service times, add events and publish announcements without filing a request and waiting. That meant a builder constrained enough to stay on-brand but open enough to feel like their own site.
Process
I worked on the editor surface and the rendering pipeline that turns saved layouts into published pages. The interesting constraint was reconciling a visual editor with a component system: every block a user can place has to be safe to render in any order, at any nesting depth, without breaking layout.
Technical Implementation
Leveraged advanced machine learning algorithms and AI models to enhance user experience and system performance. Implemented intelligent recommendation systems using collaborative filtering and deep learning techniques. Utilized modern AI frameworks including TensorFlow.js for real-time inference and Python-based ML pipelines for model training and optimization.
Impact
Churches can launch a site and keep it current without engineering involvement, which is the difference between a site that reflects the organisation and one that goes stale within a month.
